Pumpkin Spice Smoothie Bowl

I love a good smoothie bowl at any time of year - you can even adapt them to the season! This one is perfect for the fall. 🍂

As with all smoothie bowls, the idea is to keep the mixture thick and not add too much liquid. I've had the most success using a food processor although a very good blender like a Vitamin may work too.

If you don't have either, it'll still taste amazing! It'll just won't be quite as thick.

You can also add some protein powder for a little extra protein!

Recipe makes 1 serving

Smoothie

  • 1 banana, frozen

  • ⅓ cup pumpkin purée

  • ¼ cup frozen butternut squash (cooked, diced)

  • ¼ frozen avocado

  • ¼ teaspoon turmeric

  • ¼ teaspoon cinnamon

  • ¼ teaspoon ground ginger

  • a pinch of black pepper

  • ½ cup coconut milk (just enough to get blender going)

Directions

  1. Blend all ingredients in a strong blender or a food processor.

  2. Top with your favorite toppings. I used fresh banana, pepitas, almond butter, honey, cacao nibs, and shredded coconut.
