Drizzly Almond Butter
Homemade nut butter is super easy to make and so much better than store-bought if you have the time to whip up a batch.
All you need is raw almonds and a strong food processor! I roasted them before processing, which helps to bring out a roasty flavor and makes it extra creamy.
Drizzle it over your next smoothie bowl, oatmeal, honey toast… Or just eat it with a spoon!
Recipe makes ~2 ¼ cups
Ingredients
4 ½ cups raw almonds
¼ tsp salt
Directions
Heat your oven to 400F. Place your raw almonds on a baking sheet and roast for 12-15 minutes or until fragrant and toasted.
Remove from the oven and let cool completely.
Place almonds and salt in a food processor and blend. I usually let mine go for about 10 minutes, scraping down the sides once in a while or as needed. If your food processor gets too hot, turn it off and let it cool for a few minutes.
The almond butter should be smooth after 10 minutes. If you want it extra creamy and drizzly, I find another 5 minutes processing makes it perfect!
Taste it and add more salt if you want or even some honey or cinnamon.
Store in an air-tight container or jar at room temperature.
