High-Protein Pita Wraps

Boost the protein in your lunches with these high-protein pita wraps! 🥙✨

These have 3x the protein of a regular flour tortilla or pita, which will help to keep you full for longer and control snacky cravings throughout the afternoon. And the texture is way more chewy & satisfying!

Each recipe makes 8 pitas, so you can make a batch then stick them in your freezer for later. They’re super versatile, so you can pretty much fill them with anything you’d put in a tortilla or pita!

Note: you could also make 10 smaller pitas if you want to bring the calories down a bit. Just divide the dough into 10 balls instead of 8 when you’re rolling it out.

Recipe makes 8 pita wraps

Ingredients

  • 3.5 cups (480g) all purpose flour

  • 1 tbsp baking powder

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 2 ¼ cups (480g) Greek yogurt (2%)

  • Olive oil

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, add the flour, baking powder, and salt. Mix until combined, then add the Greek yogurt.

  2. You can use your hands or a dough-hook on an electric mixer to mix the dough until everything is incorporated and a ball is formed. The dough shouldn’t be crumbly or too sticky - add more yogurt or flour if needed (especially if you measured and didn’t weigh the flour, proportions can vary).

  3. Divide the dough into 8 balls (~120g each if you want to make them even).

  4. On a lightly-floured surface, use a rolling pin to roll out one of the dough balls until it’s about the size of the bottom of a large frying pan (whichever pan you’re using).

  5. Heat a large frying pan over low-medium heat, add a drizzle of olive oil, then place the pita in the pan. Brush the top of the pita with a little more olive oil, then cover and let cook for 2-3 minutes or until the bottom begins to brown. The dough should puff up as well. Flip the pita and repeat on the other side.

  6. Repeat with the rest of the dough balls.

  7. Fill with your favorite wrap or pita fillings and enjoy immediately or store leftovers in the refrigerator for a few days. If you plan to wait longer than 3-4 days to eat them, place them in a zip lock bag in the freezer. Whenever you’re ready to enjoy one, just pull it out and toast it!
