Sweet & Smoky Sweet Potato Fries

For all my sweet potato-lovers, these are my absolute favorite! Smoky, sweet, with a little touch of spicy. They’re the perfect healthy carb to enjoy with some veggies & protein in balanced dinner.

These are also great in the air fryer if you have one and want to make them even more crispy! Instructions are at the bottom of the recipe.

Ingredients

  • 2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp dried thyme
  • ½ tsp chipotle powder
  • ½ tsp chili powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 1 lb. sweet potatoes, raw
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Directions

  1. Combine the seasoning in a bowl and set aside.
  2. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees fahrenheit and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. Wash and peel the sweet potatoes, then cut into fries (about ¼-½” thick).
  4. Place the fries on the baking sheet and coat with olive oil, then sprinkle with the seasoning and toss to coat evenly. Spread out fries on the sheet and try to avoid overlap so they come out crispier.
  5. Bake for about 1 hour, using a spatula to toss them every 15 minutes to allow them to cook evenly.
  6. Serve them warm with ketchup or your favorite dipping sauce!

Notes

Air Fryer Instructions: Place in the basket and air-fry at 375 degrees fahrenheit for 12-15 minutes (or until crisp & browned), tossing halfway.
