Healthy Chocolate Banana Bread

My Healthy Banana Bread has been the most popular recipe I’ve shared so far!

So I decided it was time to create a version especially for the chocolate lovers, like myself 🤎

This Chocolate Banana Bread is fluffy, moist, and honestly, a slice of pure chocolatey heaven… The best part is, it’s super nourishing with 6g of fiber, 8g of protein, and only 275 calories per piece!

It also makes a great meal prep option for healthy breakfasts or pre-workout snacks throughout the week 😊

Makes 6 servings/pieces (1 loaf total)

Ingredients

  • 3 (300g) medium-large ripe bananas, mashed

  • 2 large eggs

  • 2 tbsp milk (any kind)

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1 3/4 cups (160g) oat flour

    • Can sub 2 cups (160g) old-fashioned rolled oats, ground finely into flour

  • 2 tbsp cacao (or cocoa) powder

  • 1 tsp baking soda

  • ¼ tsp salt

  • 2 oz dark chocolate, melted

  • Topping: 2 tbsp (30g) mini chocolate chips

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a bread loaf pan or line with parchment paper and set aside.

  2. Mash the banana in a bowl, then add the eggs, milk, and vanilla. Mix to combine.

  3. In another bowl, mix together the oat flour, cacao powder, baking soda, and salt.

  4. Add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, mixing just until incorporated – do not over-mix. Then fold in the melted chocolate.

  5. Pour mixture into the pan and smooth the top. Sprinkle the mini chocolate chips on top, gently pressing it into the batter.

  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the top is rounded and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.

  7. Let the banana bread cool, then slice and store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
